It’s no secret that protecting our environment is one of the Green Party’s first priorities. In Grey and Bruce counties, we are blessed with healthy forests, pristine watersheds, the Niagara Escarpment, and the breathtaking shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay.
But Doug Ford’s conservatives are accelerating urban sprawl that is destroying the very environment we call home. Weakened conservation authorities mean less protection for our rivers and drinking water. Big city companies spend big dollars building luxury resorts on our sensitive Escarpment lands. And a massive $7bil for-profit pumped storage energy project threatens to forever alter Georgian Bay.
There’s a better way forward. Let’s protect our rivers, lakes, and forests. Let’s say no to big city developers’ sprawl and say yes to small, connected communities. And let’s invest in genuine renewable energy that benefits all Ontarians.
